IPRG is short for Ion-plating Rose Gold. It is composed by rose gold layer on surface and titanium nitride layer underneath. The rose gold layer has several variations depending on the proportions of gold composed. Common variations includes 75%, 85%, 90% and 95% which implies that there is 75% gold, 85% gold, 90% gold and 95% gold respectively in the rose gold layer. The proportion of gold could be adjusted on the request of customer demand. IPRG is widely used in middle and high-end watches, jewelries and other metal products.
Compared with galvanic plating rose gold, IPRG provides higher wear-resistance and corrosion resistance effect. It is because that the layer beneath the gold layer has the similar color with the surface gold layer. The underneath layer provides secondary decorative effect since it assembles the color of surface layer. Besides, it enhances the level of wear-resistance effect.
The technique to manufacture the IPRG coating includes vacuum ion coating, vacuum evaporation coating and vacuum sputtering coating.
Functional film products are widely used in CNC cutting tools, aerospace, automotive, moulds and mechanical parts, etc. Decorative film products are widely used in clocks and watches, jewellery, consumer electronics and sports equipment.
