Ion Plating Gun coating looks like grey color. The color of IP Gun could be measured by Lab value: “L” value is around 50; if “L” value is less than or equal to 45, it is called dark gun color whereas it is called light gun color when the “L” value is above or equal to 55. The color could be adjusted flexibly on request of customer demand.
Compared with the alternative coating made by galvanic plating (galvanic-plating black nickel and trivalent chromium), the biggest advantage of IP Gun is that it is more environmentally friendly and it has higher wear-resistance.
The technique to manufacture the IP Gun coating includes vacuum ion coating, vacuum evaporation coating and vacuum sputtering coating.
